How can counseling help me?

You’ve probably asked yourself this question, but chances are, if you’re here, you’re ready to make some changes and give counseling a try.

What you need to know is that counseling is a place where I guide you to explore your issues and help you remove the barriers that are keeping you from the life you want. I do this by giving you space to tell your story, offering activities to foster deeper self-understanding, and offering you practical skills and alternative ways of being.

Counseling is not a quick fix or a magic wand

Counseling takes time, and the payoff is worth it. You are already on your way to becoming the best version of you– I’m just here to guide you through obstacles and offer you some more tools to put in your toolbox.

You’ll like my style if you are prepared to be engaged in the therapy process– this means doing work outside of sessions!

You’ll like my style if you are psychologically-minded and are interested in all things mental health. If you’re not already, then you’ll be open to learning!

You’ll like my style if you are prepared for longevity in your therapy relationship– this means preparing yourself to have more than a handful of sessions. Expect 10 or so to start!

You’ll be satisfied if you are looking for someone who is trauma-informed!
